Lake Eucumbene is the largest man-made lake in the Southern Hemisphere. It was constructed in the 1950s as the central part of the Snowy Mountains Scheme. When full, it has the capacity to hold almost 9 times the volume of Sydney Harbour.
Lake Eucumbene is renowned for trout fishing, spectacular photography, ideal for paintings, sensational for water sports. The choices are endless!
It is worthwhile hiring a boat or bringing your own and spending time cruising around the lake for a day or more. There are many trout guides who take fishermen (experienced or beginner) out to the lake’s great fishing spots. With all of this on offer, you should surely have some wonderful memories.
Camping is not allowed on the fore-shores of the lake, but as we are only minutes away from Yen’s Bay, renowned for its fishing, we are well placed with the township of Adaminaby again only minutes away. We also offer the peace and tranquility of Rural Farm-Stay at reasonable rates.
